Loves Joe Stalin’s Style

James Carville. Do you know him? Baseball hat? Southern drawl? Democratic consultant on CNN? Well, he is that. I love him to bits. He is just a little bit farther left than the central-left position occupied by CNN and he’s not ‘on’ anywhere nearly often enough. CNN has been talking about the presidential debate, Thursday night without stopping for days as if it were as important as the election itself — or perhaps more important — as it might be if it should become the vote “determinator”. (Credit for the invention of this word belongs to Arnold Schwarzenegger).

A couple of days ago, James Carville was present and I heard him offer “Even money” (he was talking about Gambling, y’all) that Donald Trump would not debate — that he would “quit” before it starts or in the middle. That struck me as very likely because of the way CNN is setting the situation. The significant change involves the microphones. They will be muted after speaking so the other speaker cannot be interrupted — at least, audibly for the audience. Obviously, this is being done because Trump is a rude prick in a conversation he might lose, shouting and bullying his opponent. Biden will be the sole of politeness. I think James Carville should help Biden find a polite way to call Trump names.
